Planning for a solo trip? If it’s the first time for you then you might be having a lot of second thoughts. What to take and what to leave, the decisions are hard. That is why we have made this list of things to carry while traveling all by yourself.
From shoes & accessories to emergency items, we have tried to include everything that you should have on yourself the whole time you’re out.
This is a checklist every solo traveler should consider before locking up his or her bag(s). So with no further ado, let’s get into it!
A Must-Have List of Things to Carry While Travelling on Your Own
Take a deep breath, relax and check your bag(s) if you have all of the essentials or not.
Choose the Right Bag
Selecting the right bags & cases can be a bit complicated. The first thing to consider the duration of your trip. If you’re going on a short trip that will last for a day or so then you can just shove one extra pair of pants and shirt, and other things in a hand-carry suitcase and you’re good to go.
If you’re going for a few days or weeks then you should consider keeping an extra backpack with yourself as well. So whenever you’re out there exploring, you won’t need to carry a whole suitcase or briefcase with you all the time. Keep some toiletries and emergency supplies in a fanny-pack for easy access with you all the time.
Grab the Correct Kicks
You have to think about your destination and the kind of terrain you’ll be exploring during your trip. If you plan on going on a thrilling and exciting hike then you should grab some trekking boots. If you’re planning on roaming the streets then grab the sneakers & joggers, and if you’re planning on attending a formal event then make sure to have some of the classy shoes in your backpack.
It all depends on the kind of trip you’re going to. If you plan on doing some shoe shopping on the go, we have got a few tips for that as well. Just keep up with us.
Install the Right Applications on Your Phone
There are many travel-essential apps that you should have. Some of them are built-in the phones such as Maps and navigator apps while you would need to download some from the respective application store depending on your phone.
If you plan on booking a hotel on the go, you can browse through Airbnb or TripAdvisor to help you easily compare prices and book a place to stay without any hurdle. If you plan on shopping for fashion accessories on the way, keep yourself updated with the brands you’re looking forward to buying from. For instance, if you’re thinking about buying some shoes, asking your friends if they have any loeffler randall discount codes, or check your emails for any discount codes that might be of interest to you.
You can check out food delivery apps as well for some good food pickup or dine-in points depending on your plans.
And this brings us to the next thing on your checklist.
A Handy Powerbank
You should keep a fully charged Powerbank with you all the time. You may have a great phone with good battery life but you don’t know of the unexpected situations.
You may spend too long on the road and may need to charge your phone on the go as well, or you may need to power up your laptop for any reason. You can’t stay in your car or hotel room for hours just to make sure your phone is charged up.
In addition to Powerbank, make sure to keep some extra charging cords as well.
Ready-to-Eat Food
Hunger is one of the strongest human emotions. Whether you’re driving yourself, taking a train, or on a hike, your energy should be up and your stock should not be below.
Make sure to stock some energy snack bars for the sudden travel hunger bursts to maintain your sanity. It can save you from spending money and risking your health at a shady motel that you don’t know serve what.
Microfiber / Easy-Dry Towel
You may be used to wiping your face with tissue paper or just from the elbow but when you’re out on the road, it’s important to stay fresh on the go.
You could run out of napkins and tissue papers but never out of an easy-dry towel. As the name suggests, you can wipe out all the sweat without having to worry about running out of napkins. They’re eco-friendly, reusable, and cheaper compared to tissues in the long run as well.
At Last Lock It!
Last but not least, make sure to get padlocks for your stuff. Whether you’re carrying a backpack, suitcase, or a briefcase, a padlock is something you must have.
Go through this list of things to carry while traveling again once you have packed all your stuff, lock it tightly, wear your gear, and hit the road!
Also, stay hydrated!
