My ideal day starts about an hour before my twins wake up. I shower and drink a cup or 2 of Kimbo Coffee. Then, I take a minute to plan how I will tackle my to do list for the day. I would love to say this happens every day, but I am not a morning person, and most days I find myself being woken up by someone saying “mommy it’s time to play.”

My morning routine is simple: alarm, roll out of bed, coffee, news, more coffee. Once that’s out of the way and my brain has picked up speed, I look over my To Do’s for the day while enjoying my simple but reliable breakfast of fruit and yogurt, squeeze in any last minute prep or review, and then I’m off! I wouldn’t say I’m a morning person, because, who really loves getting out of bed on a dark cold morning? But I will say I enjoy the quiet, consistent nature of my morning routine before I head into the unpredictable busy day ahead

I’m an introvert and I’m prone to social anxiety. This is where I can be myself – in this, you can find the real version of me. That’s why I adore spending mornings by myself, having my own routine and time for me.
I’m an ice cream and pasta lover and I’m in love with Joshua Harris books. I find myself safe and happy while traveling in my mind through the amazing stories and beeing the book protagonist.

The most important part of any morning routine is sticking to it! Anytime we don’t follow our routine, our day is much harder and our mornings turn into chaos as I try to get everyone fed and off to work or school.

6:00 – 6:30: Wake up, check emails, notifications, messages I’ve missed, upcoming meetings and the weather, maybe get up earlier.
6:30 – 7:00: Drink a glass of water, get dressed for my run, pack my clothes for work, get the children dressed, and get their breakfast on the way.
7:00 – 7:15: Pack my lunch, talk to children, drink coffee or prep post-run breakfast.
7:15 – 7:30: Get shoes on, check on snacks, put dishes away, drink another glass of water, pee, tie son’s shoelace that’s always untied.
7:30 – 7:45: Get children to their bus stop, play tag, make faces at them through the window.
7:50 – 8:50: Run 4 miles down my bus/train commute, notice trees, listen to podcasts, plan my day, solve problems.
8:50 – 9:25: Take the train into the city.
9:25 – 9:50: Take a shower at the gym, wash hair with gym soap, knot hair sufficiently, whip it around, get changed, and head to work.
10:00 – 6:00: Non-organized chaos. This paragraph took me five minutes to type, but I was interrupted five times and it actually took an hour and a half to type.

I have one rule for morning routines: Don’t interrupt me or invite me to argue before the coffee in my cup runs out! Lol!
I don’t get in the morning in a hurry like other moms. I don’t work during office hours, my son is homeschooling, and we live in my husband’s work area. This is why I can have a peaceful morning with a cup of coffee since 5:00 am. I like to write in the morning, writing my own book, replied to emails and all incoming contacts as I work as a blogger and collaborate with international bloggers. Usually, emails from my client or fellow bloggers come in while I have a good night sleep. I end this quietness at 6:30 am for a morning shower, then work on a more active morning routine: cleaning the house and homeschooling my son until the sun is high.

As difficult as it is most mornings, I try to force myself out of bed before anyone else wakes up. Alone time in the morning means that I get to log in and get some work done before tackling breakfast and carpool duties. I also like to include an almond milk latte in my daily breakfast routine!

My morning routine consists of the three C’s: Cuddles, Coffee, and Craziness.
I wake up the kiddo’s with cuddles, quickly followed by hot black coffee before the craziness of getting ready for school and work takes over. Our mornings are full-on but it’s an organized chaos that works for us.
When the morning drop off is done, I relax with my second cup of coffee. read emails, and check in on my social media channels and plan out the week ahead.

My morning routine during the week starts out early. I am up at 4 a.m, and I’m at work by 5 a.m. Once I arrive at work, coffee is one of my first priorities, along with a biscuit for dunking. 🙂 I am off by 10 a.m., which is great because I still have the day ahead of me. I go home and have a breakfast that consists of a protein shake – almond milk, banana, blueberries, and strawberries. Now, I am ready to seize the rest of my day!
