I just read two books: Julie and Julia (which I wrote a reivew of today on my blog) and Belong To Me by Maria de Los Santos. Belong to Me is awesome and I highly recommend it! Great summer page turner that I personally could not put down. Maybe I'll do another review next week. Now I am reading One Fifth Avenue by the Sex and the City lady. I'm not that excited about it and actually fear it will take away my reading mojo.

I have been trying to read The Last Lecture for months now, but I get choked up about every 3 pages, and it really freaks my son out when I cry. So I try to read it when I can, but that usually is in the waiting room of a Dr's office another place I really don't want to cry. But I am determined to finish it and then I don't know what I will read, probably my school books for at least the next few months. But I am gonna try to read a book for fun and not just school - I so miss reading. I used to devour books before I became a mommy. I guess I need to get my reading mojo back.

Now this is a discussion I can get behind. Well . . . when I can remember what I've read and what it was about. I usually read about 2 books a week. I devour them. My son tells me I read too fast and don't take time to absorb them. Yes dear, tell me how else I am imperfect.
But I just finished reading Three Weeks to Say Goodbye by C.J. Box. It was fabulous. About a couple who has adopted this baby and then the birth father's family wants the baby back; but there is an evil twist. Very good.
Anything by Jodi Picolt is also a favorite. As is Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Maeve Binchy . . . I could go on all night. But unless I just put the book down - don't ask me to describe it.
Funny, but true, I once bought three books in one month - only to discover I'd already read them all!

Ohhhh, my first trip over to check out this blog frog stuff and the topic is BOOKS! I love it! Right now I'm studying for the Praxis II as part of my grad school applications, so I'm re-reading lots of classics. As far as just for fun I just finished the new Dean Koontz and a few books by Philippa Gregory, which I picked up because Mama Kat mentioned her, and I loved them so much now I really want to try some more historical fiction... any suggestions??

I read The Memory Keeper's Daughter during vacation this summer. I liked it a lot. I read 6 other books while I was on vacation. I loved My Lobotomy. It was an odd memoir and I don't usually read non-fiction, but something about that book, just kept me riveted. I think I read it in about 48 hours! I can't recall the others off the top of my head.
Currently I am reading The Sacrafice by Beverly Lewis. It is the 3rd book in the Abram's Daughters series. The series focuses on 4 Amish sisters around the 1940's. I love, love, love this series. I am so absorbed into this stories, I have found myself speaking like the Amish. For sure and for certain! (see...)
I would love to know what other people think about the series. Everyone I know that has read them, loves them. I'm curious if anyone dislikes them!

While I am sitting here recovering from the surgery, I am not only catching up on all my blog frog discussions and blogs, but I am also reading Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It's interesting, she writes a lot of really great books, and they are all very "controversial" for lack of a better word.

I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife. Loved it. Julie and Julia is sitting on the nightstand, waiting to be read. I always like to read the book before I see the movie. The last book I read before that was My Sister's Keeper. Cried all the way through it.
I will be reading Catching Fire when it comes out in two weeks.
