I have 5 kids and am homeschooling the 3 oldest ones right now. We're using Sonlight core 6 this year and really love it, especially lately as all of our books are in sync with Christmas.
I was an only child and always wanted a big family. I see children as one of the greatest blessings this side of heaven. My husband and I are Christians and met in church 12 years ago and were married 11 years ago. He was teaching a SS class and I asked him all the hard questions:) He pastors a small Reformed Baptist church in the Panhandle of Texas in my home town. When my husband first flew into my city with me to meet my parents, before we were engaged, he said that he was sorry but that he could NEVER live here. Ha ha. God called him to a church here and we've been here ever since. His parents followed us here and now my Granny has moved here, too. We are so blessed to be surrounded by our family!

My name is Chris and I have three kiddos: dd 13 (in a couple of weeks), dd 9, and ds 3. I'm blessed to be homeschooling my kids, and working part time as a veterinarian doing surgery two days a week. I worked full time until my oldest was 2nd grade (public school) and youngest wasn't in school yet, and then God allowed an opportunity for me to stay home for 5 years and get started homeschooling. (My husband re-enlisted in the army after 10 years). Now we are settled in a new home in South Texas (no longer active duty, but National Guard) and I was blessed to be offered a job doing my favorite part of vet medicine, surgery, just two days weekly. It helped me regain my skills, but still focus on my family. Sometimes it's really tough to juggled both lives, and do a good job with both(or even just keeping up), but I continually praise God for allowing me to do both as I know my time with my precious kids is waaayyy too short.
I have been blessed to also be able to fit the TOS Crew into my schedule for two years, which has really allowed me to have some awesome support that I often say I just couldn't have made it through without. Not only have I been blessed with some really great homeschooling materials I could otherwise not afford or in many cases probably wouldn't have even known about, but I've found an unbelievable group of Godly woman (and a really cool guy each year, HI Tim, LOL) for support and friendship! It's a whole heap of work and definitely adds stress to my busy schedule, but I thank God everyday for blessing me with such rich opportunity.
In all my spare time, LOL, I enjoy writing Christian music and being a part of our Praise Band at church. We attend a cowboy church where my girls love attending monthly Playdays, riding barrels and poles, etc on their horses with their friends.
We struggled through 2 years of living with relatives to finally arrive at our 30 acre ranch last August. Our house is still a mess, as most of our furniture got ruined in storage, and we still don't have any furniture in our living room, but we are loving having space for our horses, dogs, geese, ducks, chickens, cats, and all the orphaned wildlife, birds, etc my husband always seems to be bringing home for me to rehab or bottle feed, LOL.
Hope I haven't shared too much here! :) God is so good!!

I'm Laura, mom to 4 boys (ages 12, 9, 6 and 6 weeks) who I've homeschooled since 2005. I've been married to my dh for 14 years (we met a few weeks after I started grad school as he was a tech in the lab I first rotated through.)
We are practicing Catholics. One interesting fact/ pattern is that each time I have conceived a son I was active in music ministry. When I conceived my eldest, I was running a small music ministry program at the University of Rochester's Newman Center. With my second son, I was active in the parish choir. With my third, I had started cantoring (and made our associate pastor nervous that I'd go into labor while cantoring.) Then, this past year, I was serving as interim music ministry director for almost 7 months. I absolutely loved the excuse to rebuid my skills and be more involved. But, I was glad to turn the reigns over to the permanent replacement as summer heat was not agreeing with the pregnancy and the mission church doesn't have a/c.
We're currently in Maryland (our home for 2 years after 7 years in Ohio), but ship out for Alaska in a few weeks. I am looking forward to house hunting and 'starting from scratch' when it comes to house organization. I doubt we'll afford much acreage like Chris, but hope to have a decent sized yard for a garden (with fencing to keep the critters at bay.)

We're a Christian, military, homeschooling family. My husband and I have been married 12 years, but we've been together since junior high/high school. We've been blessed with one dd (age 10). We're currently stationed in Arizona, and we're enjoying the beauty of God's creation here. I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom/wife and doing things such as sewing, cooking, crafts...

I am The Crazy Mom. I have 8 kids, though one's technically an adult now, so why do I still have to beg him to get out of bed in the morning. LOL I have 6 dudes, 18, 16, 15, 13, 10, and 6. The Dudettes are 11 and 8. The dog sheds. A lot. Oh, yeah, and I have a husband too. His name is Sane Man and he is the one who gives me "the look" when I do or say something done. I think his face is frozen like that. Or maybe I'm just always getting the look.
My house tends to be mess, and I am very disorganized, though I'm working on that. I am also prone to panic over the littlest things. Working on that too. I could lose a few pounds. Working on that as well. What can I say, I'm a work in progress!
One day I dreamed of having a blog where I could tell all the other imperfect moms that they are not alone. I fancied calling it "Ramblings from the Crazy House." My super duper big dream was that if the blog got popular enough, I might get some curriculum vendors to send me free samples to review. Would that be cool or what? You see, two things I LOVE are writing and getting FREE stuff. Imagine my thrill when I was offered a place on the TOS Crew. God kinda worked my dream backwards and I got the review gig before I started the blog. The rest, as they say, is history.
Lots of my blog posts are reviews, but I do try to write about the dumb stuff I do on a daily, well, hourly basis. (Minutely???) Even when I post a review, I try to let my "Crazy Momness" show. Lately I've been participating in some carnivals and memes to keep me postin'. I could do this all day, but then I wouldn't have time to homeschool the kids and do the dumb stuff I write about. So, it's all good. I hope you'll stop by for a visit and please leave a comment saying how much you love me. Lie if you have to! LOL

Blogging about Faith and Family

Well, since I've already been mentioned (hi Chris and all of my Crew friends), I may as well go ahead and introduce myself as well. I am Tim and my wife, Sarah, and I are full time missionaries and run a ministry called Good News Mission to the low income folks in the town that we live in. Year round we do Bible studies for children and adults, and also do cooking classes, craft classes etc. for the ladies, and we do special classes for kids as well. During the summer we have special children's ministries and a community garden and during the school year we do Bible clubs and have several special events for the people. We serve a meal at most things that we do, since that is sometimes the only good meal that these folks get during the week.
I taught school for 11 years before that, and since missionary work allows for a flexable schedule, we homeschool our three boys. John Allen is 13 and a cancer survivor, Joshua is 9 and has asperger's syndrome and Jacob is 3 and is going to begin testing for sensory problems as well. Needless to say, we lead an interesting life.
We love to travel and see new places, and do fun and interesting homeschool things together. I love to blog, and I love being on the TOS Homeschool Crew and review homeschool items. Like Chris, the crew has been a real blessing. Being full time missionaries, we are on a limited budget, and being on the crew has allowed me to try products and curriculum that we would never have been able to afford otherwise or possibly not even known about. I thank God for the crew and all of the friends that I have made from the crew and from blogging. I'm really enjoying Blog Frog and would love it if you would join my community if you haven't already!
We also are big supporters of Compassion International and love our compassion child Marcelo, from Bolivia. We only wish that we could afford to help other children through Compassion. There is a little girl from Africa that we are trying to find a sponsor for. If you are interested, just leave me a note. Check out my blog to find out more about her.
