Got a Question for ProBlogger? Let us know HERE!

Started by SITS Girls , author of The Secret to Success is Support 7/27/2010 4:56:29 PM

We have a very special event planned for our SITStahs this week!  On Thursday, July 29 from 4:00-5:00 pm MST, we will be hosting a live chat with none other than Darren Rowse right here in our BlogFrog community.  Got a burning blogging question that no one seems to be able to answer?  Want to get advice from a true professional?  Then be sure to join us!

In preparation for Thursday, we are initiating this discussion string in order to collect questions for Darren.  Simply post your input here no later than Wednesday, July 28 at 4:00 pm MST and we'll be sure it gets forwarded on.

What's more, by leaving your question, you'll automatically be entered into a drawing for a free ticket to any Bloggy Boot Camp of your choice either this year or next!  In other words, if you are the lucky winner, you'll have eight different conferences that span the entire continental U.S. to chose from.

So what are you waiting for?  Let us know what your question is!

Details regarding how to participate in the live chat will be posted in the SITS Girls BlogFrog Community during the morning on Thursday, July 29.  Check back then to learn how to get involved!

Alright, here's my burning question that NO ONE has been able to answer without some sort of bias. So it's a zinger. Here goes:

If you have the savvy, the knowledge, and the will power to correctly code and develop your blog for SEO, does it even matter what platform you use (WP, Blogger, Square Space, etc.)??

Are Canadians eligible for the draw for the free ticket? Obviously the travel and accomodations are not included.

I would like to know what is recommended for blogs in regards to Copyright and Disclaimers.  What should we post to protect our blogs and their content.  THANKS!

Well, I haven't read through the whole eBook yet, but today I've really been plagued with this question: Other than having a post go viral, what are some effective ways catch the attention of non-bloggers?

And how do you keep the non-bloggers?

Sorry if this is addressed/answered later in the book.

PS - LOVE what I'm learning. Love the SITStahs, and Mr. Venerable Problogger himself.

I have two questions related to Google PR and Alexa.

1. Does posting the same blog post on more than one site lower your Google Pagerank? I'm a member of a "blog ring" and once a week I post one of the posts from my site to it, and I worry that it may affect my site's PR.

2. I've seen many sites with no Google PR and an Alexa rating in the upper millions yet getting 40-50 comments per day. That doesn't make sense to me because I thought the Alexa rating was based on visitors. I get nowhere near that many comments yet my Alexa rating is much better than that. Please explain.

Thank you!

What 'niche' would you put Ree Drummond in?  There seem to be quite a few blogs that don't necessarily fall into a niche, and I think I'm one of them.  I'm not comparing myself to Ree in any way, believe me... just that I wouldn't know what niche to put her into any more than I can my own blog.

I think there are more 'lifestyle' blogs coming up and fewer promotion and how-to's.  Do you agree?

Sorry... I think that was 2 questions.

Thanks to all of you for this challenge!

I have a question along the lines of Barbara, what if you don't have a very specific niche?  My blog is about farm life, it also has crafting, humor, gardening, kids and a camel!

I like my blog the way it is with a wide variety of subjects but when asked to put my blog in a specific category I'm stumped.

So what do you call our blogs that like the Pioneer Woman cover just about all aspects of our specific live?

And don't say 'mommy blog' cause we're sooo much more than that, we're farmers, and craftspeople, wives, photographers, chefs, and commentators on modern life...

Thanks, Kim

How accurate are our Alexa rankings and do they even matter?

What's the best way to secure ads for your site?
