Support thread for women who have lost children

Started by Kristen , author of We Are THAT Family 5/12/2010 1:27:49 PM
I was so touched by all the comments on this week's giveaway post from My Forever Child. I thought since this subject resounded with so many of my readers, it might be a nice place to talk about your grief, share your heart, etc. Please feel free to do so.

We lost 3 babies before my daughter and son were born.  The road was a hard one for us and I don't often share our story, tho, I suppose I will do that on my blog eventually.  Anyways, there is an organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep that does a really awesome thing..  They have photographers all over the country (and I just learned they are in other countries too!) who will go to a hospital and take wonderful pictures if there is a sick baby or something like that.  I really wish I would have known about this place when our 18 and 22 weekers were born, but now I try to tell as many people as possible about this group so that they can spread the word.  I've learned, also, that as hospitals learn about this organization, they let parents know about it which I think is pretty cool.

I am coming up my stillborn daughter's fifth birthday.  Each day, as it grows cooler, my heart hurts and heals.  I am a writer, and that helps.  But, thanks for starting this thread.
