My husband and I are discussing getting our girls (6 and 2 yrs) a trundle bed. They have to share a room and since we will be giving up the crib soon we will need another bed. I want a trundle because of the space saving but my husband isn't sure it's practical to use on an everyday basis. I imagine most people buy them to use when guests come over.Is there anyone that uses a trundle bed on a daily basis? Any pros/cons?Thanks a bunch!

Twitter Party Tonite for Launch of New Conference Website

Wanted to let you know that I am hosting a VistaPrint sponsored Twitter party tonight from 9-10pm EST to launch my new site.

Decisions, I feel we made together, are my fault when things go wrong.

Example:
We sold our dog 9 years ago, it was too much dog for us at the time, so WE decided to get him a better home.
Now still 9 years later. I’m blamed for “getting rid of HIS dog.”

He always asks my opinion, but I try not to give it at all anymore… avoid being blamed if it turns out bad.

Am I just being a baby? Should I give my opinon, when asked?

For those of you who are also decluttering or cleaning out, I wanted to let you know I started a Great Decluttering Bloghop today on our blog.

Please feel free to stop by and link up.

As many of you know, over the past month+ I have been on a mission to
declutter at least 500 pounds of junk from our lives. I am up around
300 pounds now and still have plenty of work to do!

The first two have been taking baths together for a while now (ever since my girl was old enough to sit up in the tub). I wonder if/when I should stop, or just keep at it until the oldest starts taking showers (which he actually has done a few times). Even if he does, I would probably just start having the 3-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy bathing together. None of my kids have ever really asked about different "parts"...and even if they did, is that really a big deal?Any thoughts?

New Kid by Friday-Community Discussion #3

So. Do you ask your child to do something over and over until they do it? (don't be too hard on yourself, I think most of us do it) I love the principal in the book that states: B doesn't happen until A happens Basically, you ask them to pick up their shoes, backpack, toys, etc. and they don't do it. Rather than continue to ask, rant, do it yourself, wait. When they ask you for something or expect dinner, take them somewhere, remind them they need to complete the task you asked them to do earlier. I realized this doesn't work for every situation, but I've had the opportunity to use it and it was amazing. My 3 yo doesn't like to pick up huge toy piles...even when I ask nicely. But she loves having snacks, so I just say, yes, you can have a snack as soon as you obey Mommy and pick up your toys. What do y'all think?

Do you text and drive at the same time?

What do you think of others who do?

Community Question 2

Do they talk back? Are they occasionally rude? In the book, Have a New Kid by Friday, the author suggests one thing: Turn around and walk away. That goes against our very nature. We want to correct them, but if you're like me I end up engaging, getting angry and everything just explodes. Turn around, walk away and wait. Wait for them to need something from you-they will-the next time they ask a question- can I have snack? will you take me _____? etc. Say no. They will be dumbfounded. Perfect. There's your teachable moment. You: No, I'm so sorry, I can't take you there because a few minutes ago, you were very disrespectful and hurt my feelings.... There will be a fall out. Stay strong. Stick to it. My idea is that we have a BlogHop from 25th Jan to 1st Feb, and the money we would earn from advertisers (like BlogHer) for the duration of the Hop we would donate. Of course we could host giveaways etc during this time to encourage more visitors. I'm not sure whether this would work, mainly because I'm not sure whether the advertisers would be ok with this. Plus I wanted to get your opinions and gage how many would be interested. Also, would anyone like to design a grab button for me for this? What do you think? But I do think it is transforming-with day-to-day consistency. I know not everyone has read the book, but I thought each Monday (until we exhaust the subject) we could discuss some of the aspects of the book and principals (so that even if you haven't read it, you can glean from it). The main thing I've learned from the book ISN'T how to change my kids. It's how to change ME. My hubby and I are re-learning parenting. It's hard, but we are seeing some amazing results. So, let's just start this first week with the basics....what are some areas you struggle with in parenting--discipline, talking back, bedtime, etc... Talk to me.

Free baby books and one kid's krafts

This is not a giveaway. Every week I post a question that is for men only. Either the man can
answer the question on his blog and then leave the link on Mr. Linky,
or a woman can interview her other half and blog about it on her own
blog. It's been fun, but I would love to have more participants. Here's the link to this week's question - you have until next Monday to answer and leave a link!

It was a store with awesome stuff for kids. I think it was around Christmas maybe two years ago, but I can't find it. I've searched google for it but they can't find it either. I was wondering if anyone else knows where I can find it...either the post that tells me where it is or the web address!
