Portion Control

I want to work on my portion control this year with what I eat.

Would you be willing to share what works for you and how you have done with this matter?  Share your tips, stories, frustration, and ideas!

There are a few tips that I used when practicing portion control:
  • A portion is as big as your fist
  • If you are prone to taking more than a portion when scooping dinner, go ahead and scoop what you normally would, then put half back.
  • Write it down, having a food journal helps you actually see what you are eating throughout the day and what sizes your portions are.
  • Use a scale or a measuring cup, it helps to look up how many exact calories are in that portion, use a website such as www.myfitnesspal.com to help you know the calorie count.
