In the past I have thought that if they live in our house... chores are a part of living in said house! While I still believe this, I now see the point that if a child is not given the opportunity to earn money how will they ever learn to use it wisely as a young adult.

I am struggling with wanting my kids to have chores that are just expected and chores that are paid and how to enforce the difference. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

Photo Contest

My son's picture that I submitted to Moonfrye's blog made it to the finals! My 3 year old son is in the bed with my husband and I every night. He wakes up at least 3 times a night with nightmares and just because he is a bad sleeper. I cannot get him to stay in his room. He ended up in our room because his screams from the nightmares were waking up my other son. Does anyone have any tips on how to get him to not only sleep in his own room, but to sleep through the night, or am I just doomed with a bad sleeper? thanks!

Stay Home- Make money :)

My idea is that we have a BlogHop from 25th Jan to 1st Feb, and the money we would earn from advertisers (like BlogHer) for the duration of the Hop we would donate. Of course we could host giveaways etc during this time to encourage more visitors. I'm not sure whether this would work, mainly because I'm not sure whether the advertisers would be ok with this. Plus I wanted to get your opinions and gage how many would be interested. Also, would anyone like to design a grab button for me for this? What do you think? They are large yellow trash cans that have recycling symbol on them. The bins in our new county are blue and square. The county allows you to use whatever bin you want for recycling it just has to be clearly labeled as recycling. We put our two bins out every week and then one week I went to bring them back and there was only one. I thought maybe it had blown away or someone took it.A few weeks later I noticed a (our) yellow bin outside our neighbor's house on recycling day. I am sure it is ours, as no one else has big yellow bins around here. I was going to say something but this guy is never home, and travels for weeks at a time. I have only seen him once in 6 months. Today, when I arrived home, the yellow bin was out again. This time I took it and put it back in our garage. I feel bad, but it is our bin...What would you have done? Personally I cannot stand to be late. For me being on time is 5 minutes early. Years ago I took an organizing class and the teacher told us that when you are late it is telling the other person they are not valuable to you, because your time is more important than their time.
