Music and Kids

Hi all!

I am a singer, as well as a Mom, and I am super curious how you all feel about music and kids. I grew up with instruments in our house, but we also banged on pots and pans, played home-made kazoos and sang our little hearts out. I'm convinced music is essential for a child's development and would love to know how you feel about it!

I am a big fan of music for kids! The latest brain research shows that kids need to be exposed to music before 10 or their brain paths for perfect pitch hearing closes down forever.

My sister is a piano teacher and we wrote a teaching method book together for kids ages 3 and up so I am really into music for kids.

NIce to meet you!

Thanks for replying, Mia!

Wow, that's a fact I didn't even know yet - I know exposure to music aids kids in a variety of ways in their development, including language skills, motor skills, learning teamwork and discipline... It's just ALL good!

I'd love to find out more about the book you wrote with your sister - do you have a link to that?
