No joke, I heard about this on NPR (are they a credible
"camping" source???) They had a blurp on a guy who traveled
cross country and would grill steaks, or barbeque chicken, even
scramble eggs, on a pan ontop of the engine in his car.
He said it was "totally hygienic" as he wrapped it in foil...
Would you try it??
In the miltary we have been doing this for decades, it doesn't
matter if its leftovers that need reheating or pogie bait (term for
food used to bribe or trade for other items). As long as you
wrap it well and use a heat resistant material (foil is awesome)
you will get a warm delicious meal for when your boots hit the

Hey if I was hungry enough, I guess I would try cooking

Ha! Me too, I just can't wrap my mind around the fact that
I would be cooking with chemicals (car grease, road gunk, oil, etc)
that close to my food.
