Teaching a preschooler about Thanksgiving - resources needed

Started by Amy , author of His Treasured Princess 10/27/2011 11:22:12 PM
I am getting ready to start the month of November and the basic theme is Thanksgiving. I want to teach my preschool daughter about the Mayflower, Pilgrims, Native Americans, Religious Freedom, and other aspects of our country's history. Does anyone have any suggestions for resources, toys, books, hands on activities, object lessons or other things that would keep the interest of my daughter and allow her to learn this very important story?

I should add that we have the Fisher Price Thanksgiving set, a toy Mayflower and the Charlie Brown thanksgiving DVD for starters.

Are you on Pinterest?  I have saved several crafts and some lesson plan ideas on there.  If not, I will be posting everything I do on my blog throughout the month with links.

Here are a couple of links:  http://www.oklahomahomeschool.com/pilgrimCL.html

You just go on the Pinterest site and request and invite.  I find it to be a very useful site. :)
