I think asking around, particularly other parents you trust, is always a great idea. One of the things I really tried to pay attention to while looking for a preschool years ago, is the condition of the facility. Often times we get distracted with the various activity centers, etc that we forget to look at the little things like cleanliness of toys. That's just something that was really important to me; ensuring that the facility was clean.
