YES!! I was thinking that too about Ben killing Jacob! I was confused. I'm not completely buying the fact that one is completely good and the other completely evil... I mean maybe, but I feel like they could still throw another curve ball at us!

Richard's story was a little depressing, though. Am I a total loser that I cried when Richard's wife came back and was talking to him through Hurley?

Best episode ever!!

A whole episode of Richard Alpert! I was in heaven! Though, it seems, they might be in hell.

I will say that ever since the very first episode of the very first season, I have told hubby that I thought that they were all dead. I always thought they were in purgatory. Even though they said tonight that it's hell, I'm thinking it might not be. It just seems too simple, ya know?

I loved Jacob's analogy with the wine bottle. Kinda cleared up some of the "why" for me. There are still far too many questions though. I would really like a back story of Jacob and Esau.

I loved what Jacob said about how Esau thinks that people will always choose to do evil so, Jacob brings people to the island to prove him wrong. It seems that the survivors have so far kind of proved them both wrong. They've done evil and good for each other. To me, if the "candidate" has to be good and all that then it seems like Hurley is the only option.

That's what I think Robin! I'm still waiting for the twist to the story! And if Locke, or the *thing* that is presenting himself as Locke is really the devil then what does that make Jacob? Is he God? The Guardian of Hell? I just don't know!

See, I'm just not buying that the writers want it to be so black and white like Jacob's good and Esau's evil. There's too much gray already to think it can be so simple.

I'm not fully convinced that Esau is evil and Jacob is good. Something about Jacob rubs me the wrong way.

And, why did Esau tell Richard the same thing that Dogen told Sayid when they were supposed to go kill the person? Not to let them talk. What's that all about and why did it apply to both situations? I think that Esau and Jacob are more alike than they are different.

I have said from day 1 that it was hell, but got discouraged when the producers said in an interview that it was definitely not purgatory.  Since purgatory and hell are different, I guess it could still be hell.... but then at the end Hurley says

Stop the man in black or we all go to hell.....

Do you really think they are in Hell and dead???  I just don't think so.  Like I said, how did Ben kill Jacob when they spoke to each other...that is bugging me!
