Birth Stories - What Was Your Experience?

Started by Julie , author of Julie and Martin 4/21/2011 10:42:51 AM

Now that I'm obviously pregnant, I hear a lot of birth stories - the good, the bad, the dramatic, the funny. From the natural births at home to the C-sections with family hanging out in the waiting room, I actually enjoy these stories and would love to hear yours! :o)

That is too funny, Jennifer! I'm glad your husband got to you despite the wrong message!

I wrote at length about my second daughter's birth on the blog HERE back in 2008. I didn't write as much HERE for the oldest.

I don't have kids obviously, but I admit I do enjoy the occasional "A Baby Story" episode on television! Even though I know what's going to happen each time, I still get caught up in it and teary each time.

I get suckered into that show, too, even though the music playing over all the speaking gets on my nerves.

Oh, and I should have mentioned ... post links to your blogs if you wrote the story on there, too! I know these things generally aren't summed up in a few sentences. :)

I have 3 girls.  With my first, my water broke at 2 am.  Husband worked nights so I got to make that "honey it's time" call.  About 10 hours later, I had a rush c-section.  She was stuck and 10 pounds 1 oz.  Second one was a recommended c-section and was routine - 7 pounds 9 oz. The 3rd was another scheduled c-section.  I developed pre-eccampsia and had another rush delivery at 37 weeks.  4 pounds 7 oz.  We are done now since my body can't handle it and my babies are getting smaller!

Becky, this is my third and I'm going to have a C-section as well. Did you find it easier or harder to recover from it the third time?

My first recovery was very long and painful, and it was also a rushed one after complications, but I found the second to be faster and easier, but maybe because I knew what to expect. I'm older now, though. LOL My body might not bounce back!

Your girls are adorable, by the way.

Renee, that's such a great story! And wow - it sounds like it got really scary there. Isn't it funny how we have plans and they almost always get scrapped?

I have both of mine posted on my blog on this page: http://nutternonsense.blogspot.com/p/birth-stories.html  One c-section after induced labor, one VBAC.
