Tattoos...

Blog pic: (want one?)

I just wrote a post about my tattoos, what they mean to me, and what other ones I would like to get (OK, so I was being a bit facetious and unrealistic in the others I would like to get; I will probably never get inked again, but I like to dream!)

So now I’m curious… Do any of you have tattoos, and if so; what do they mean to you?

I have one.  It's the Japanese symbol for pride.

my husband's name on my wrist. it's an ambigram...it reads jake right side up and upside down. this was our 10 year anniversary present...so far, our marriage is surviving the curse of our names tattooed on one another!

this is for my son, who died. represents his heart that we donated, and his angel wings.

and my celtic motherhood knot. my heart intertwined with the kids hearts, and a dot down the center for each of my kids.

Nikki- I have to agree with Michelle, I LOVE your tattoos... I love anything really symbolic, and the one for your son really moved me. What a creative way to represent him!

S.I.F. - thanks!  i like symbolic stuff, too.  i like your mantras on your wrists.  if i didn't have the ambigram, i would've gotten 'breathe' on my wrist.  my husband is always telling me to breathe...cuz i forget!

i have the stupid,  randomly picked from the parlor wall, butterfly on my a$$, that i got when i graduated high school....

but, i think tats are so much cooler when they tell a story, or have deep meaning.  i want one more...a big one, across my back...a japanese cherry blossom.  been working on the design for a couple of years.

and shannon - that sounds awesome!  i bet it's beautiful!

Nikki I love your tattoos, especially the Celtic Motherhood Knot. Really awesome!

I have one tattoo, on my lower right leg (about 6 inches above my ankle). It has my husband's name: "Mark" and the Kanji for "promise". My husband has one on his right upper arm that has my name "Kimberly" and the Kanji for "wife".

I'd love to get more, but I can never decide what exactly I want.

Oh Nikki, I love yours! Dang, now I'm going to have to stop being lazy and take pics of mine.

I have 7 and SIF, you inspired me to blog about this! Right here.

Shannon, several of mine commemorate a best friend of mine that had the same thing happen to her. Hugs to you! I know the pain.
