School in NY starts the Wednesday after Labor Day.

I don't really know when school starts here. I think it's soon, though. Most of my friends homeschool their kids. Some have started and others wait till after Labor Day.

I too am in NY so it's after Labor Day! 

Meg ~ I think the end of Aug or just after Labor Day ~ will know better when I see my brother's grand children ~ they go to school and preschool ~ (out of the loop)

We homeschool year round, but here in Utah public school begins the last week of August.  {My 16yo will be taking a few high school classes this year.   I have a (little bit of) love/ (much dislike bordering upon) hate relationship with the public schools ;-)

Now that Alyssa is out of school, I don't know when it starts and I don't care when it starts! LOL LOL LOL

School starts next week in Arizona.  I never understand why they start so early when it is so hot here!

Not until September.  They stagger the intake for the new kids (we live in Ireland so it's Primary school rather than Elementary... and kids start the september after they turn 4 so long as they are 4 before june 30th!).  My son starts on 6th... but I know there are kids starting as late as 14th!

Wow, August 1? We start August 20th which will be here before you know it! I'm in Missouri :)
