According to Miss Piggy...

Started by RedheadRiter , author of The Redhead Riter - Witty, Intelligent & Addictive 4/17/2012 11:58:41 AM

I used to watch Kermit and Miss Piggy all the time with Alyssa, but those days are long gone. Not that I follow Miss Piggy closely any more, but I read this quote and just laughed out loud.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.”

~ Miss Piggy ~

  • What do you do to help yourself feel beautiful?
  • Do you think you are beautiful? Why or why not?
  • Do you think we should feel beautiful? Why or why not?

I take the time to take care of my body. I like to lotion all over and keep my legs smooth and hair free. I put on my makeup every day, wash my hair and iron my clothes. All those things don't make me feel like a Victoria Secret model, but this is MY body and I love it just the way it is because it is mine.

Hmmmm...I don't feel all that beautiful on the outside, but I think I am a good person and beautiful on the inside.

I DO think we should feel beautiful. Feeling that we are at our best and beautiful helps to give us a more positive outlook. It also helps us to feel more social and better able to connect with others.

I purposely saved this one until last because it is a toughie...

Beauty on the inside is someone who is humble, considerate, kind, loving, forgiving, and constantly strives to be a better person.

Beauty on the outside is someone who has insides that are so beautiful that it radiates on the outside. They take care of their body and pamper it. They smell nice. They smile. Their hair shines and their eyes sparkle.

To me, a truly beautiful person is someone who has learned to love herself and others.

There's the obvious outward beauty stuff - I dress in clothing that I like, I'm clean, I try to do my hair, but I feel the most beautiful when I'm not worrying about myself. Like when I've had a long day with the baby and she grabs my face in her hands and gives me a "noggin" (touches her head to mine).

Yes. Inwardly, I try to be the best person I know how to be, and outwardly If I don't appreciate my body now (in my early 20's) how the heck will I appreciate it in 60 years? I think it's important to accept ourselves for who we are and love ourselves.

Definitely, I believe that our bodies are gifts from God and that we are all children of God. He knew what he was doing when he made us. He thinks we're beautiful, so why shouldn't we think so too?

This is a good topic for me since I have been sick ( past 5 years) I have gained 70 lbs... I've never been overweight a day in my life until .... now... and it affects how I see myself tremendously... I find it interesting that I know other heavy women and I think they're pretty women... but I don't see it that way for myself... I fight this issue daily...

I was always raised that pretty is .... as pretty does... and I thought I always believed it... but it seems to apply to everyone but me... in my heart.

This is a topic I have always struggled with. I was teased mercilessly as a child. Consequently, I never had a good opinion about my appearance. It's taken me 40 years to finally develop a better self-image. God has used others to help me with this.

I'm not sure I could define beauty. It truly is in the eye of the beholder. I find personalities beautiful which radiates to their smile and their eyes.  Inside-Out.  There's also a spiritual component to beauty which shines through.

I try to take care of my appearance and my health to maintain myself.

Yes, I think we should feel beautiful. God created us and he didn't make any mistakes. We are all beautiful in His eyes.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!!!!

I could write a long book about this whole experience! Do you know why you have gained weight and how to get it off? I actually have lost quite a bit of weight even though people who see me say, "You weren't fat."  I was VERY much heavier than I had ever been my whole life and HATED myself.

Carri, you can write me emails every day to talk if it will help you. {{{{HUGE HUGSSSSSS}}}}
